The Miami International Training Center for Authorities and Leaders
Miami’s International Training Center for Authorities and Leaders (CIFAL Miami), is part of the United Nations framework, through its affiliation with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
CIFAL Miami Center provides executive and strategic learning events and activities, acting as a hub for information, communication and exchange of knowledge, best practices, tools and strategies between government authorities, non-government organizations, international organizations, the private sector, civil society, and academic institutions.
Its programs provide access to knowledge, experience, resources and best practices. In doing so, it aims to foster multi-stakeholder collaboration in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Collaborating for Impact
CIFAL Miami Center is formed by a trilateral partnership of UNITAR, Outreach Aid to the Americas (OAA) and Florida International University (FIU) to strengthen the capacities of government authorities, private sector and civil society stakeholders.
Practical Training Model
CIFAL Miami Center training and learning activities integrate a diverse array of resources, including content, practical exercises, assessments, teamwork, interactive activities, and mentorship.
These activities are purposefully designed to be hands-on and practical, ensuring participants gain real-world knowledge and skills. Based on the specific needs of the beneficiaries and the training/activity objectives, these resources are delivered in various formats: face-to-face, virtual, or a blended combination of both.
Our Mission
To provide opportunities for learning, training and exchange of best practices, tools and strategies between local and regional authorities, international organizations, the private sector and civil society; and to support local actors, improving their decision-making processes by increasing their leadership in the implementation of innovative solutions, for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Our Vision
Serve as a center of reference and excellence in building the capacity of leaders and authorities to allow them to successfully address the needs of their communities, territories and constituents, achieving sustainable development and thus improving the quality of life of citizens.
