The CIFAL Global Network

The Decentralized Cooperation Programme (DCP) of UNITAR has a worldwide presence through its headquarters in Geneva, field offices in Africa and Asia and  the global network of CIFAL centres  in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean.  Each CIFAL Centre is a regional hub for capacity development bringing together public sector, private sector and civil society.

Most training activities from the DCP of UNITAR are delivered through the CIFAL Network. In the context of increasing responsibilities at a local level, they assist and build capacity of the local actors to achieve sustainable development. Each CIFAL is specialized in two or three thematic areas which are defined by the needs and priorities of the local actors in its geographical scope.
